a bit about me

My Story

hello and welcome

I’m Ruth, and this is my small business

Thank you for visiting. My name is Ruth Moxen and ceramics is my small, very personal business.
By day I’m an HCPC and BAAT registered art psychotherapist. I currently work for AssistNI as a CYP Advocate, supporting children and young people through domestic and sexual abuse in the criminal justice process.
It’s meaningful work, and demanding work. Clay is where I come back to myself.

why I make

Making is my therapy

I genuinely can’t keep everything I make, so I use my craft to create handmade, unique pieces for you to keep and use. There’s something grounding about shaping clay on the wheel, and I love that a piece made in a quiet moment in my studio goes on to live in someone else’s home.
I also love taking on commissions for one-off, bespoke pieces. If there’s something particular you have in mind, I’d love to hear about it.
